The COR Consulting Process Is Unique

A boutique clinical consulting firm founded in 2014 on a simple premise: healthcare is complex, opportunities to improve process are abundant, and the people best placed to see them are the clinicians who have lived inside them. As an all-nurse consulting firm we rely on the ADPIE Model as our foundation.

Our Approach

Consulting Through The Nursing Process

COR has taken the clinical reasoning model every nurse is trained in (ADPIE) and modified it for use in our consulting engagements. It is why the work does not stop at a recommendation, and why evaluation is never an afterthought.

Assess

Observe current state with fresh eyes — workflow, competency, technology and the gaps between what policy says and what happens on the unit.
Develop

Develop a problem/solution list rather than the presenting symptoms, and separate what is a process failure from what is a product or training failure.
Plan

Build the strategy backwards from the desired future state, with measurable clinical, operational and financial outcomes attached.
Implement

Stand with the client through deployment — workflow changes, policy modification, training delivery and at-the-elbow support.
Evaluate

Measure adoption after go-live and confirm the solution is the most efficient and sustainable one for that organization.

Meet the CEO/Founder

Bonnie Matthews

MSN, RN, LSSBB, FACHE · Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Bonnie Matthews is a Registered Nurse who co-founded COR Consultants in 2014.

Bonnie has consulted for a variety of organizations including healthcare technology companies, public health agencies, and secondary school health science programs. Bonnie has expertise in project management, process improvement, and adult education.

Bonnie graduated with a BSN from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing and received her Master’s in Nursing Education from Duke University. She transitioned from cardiac critical care to focus on system level strategic planning and clinical optimization and spent much of her career immersed in education in her role as a professional development specialist. For nearly a decade, Bonnie was clinical faculty in a health science nursing program, where she cultivated her expertise in training and education. She believes in servant leadership, leading annual medical mission trips abroad and serving on the Advisory Board of an international non-profit organization.

Over the past twelve years in her role as a strategic advisor Bonnie has developed training programs, created standard operating procedures, and written policy and procedures for healthcare organizations across the country. She serves in several fractional roles for Healthcare Technology organizations, including Chief Experience Officer and Chief Clinical Officer.
